From Tao Tê Ching

The Sage is occupied with the unspoken
and acts without effort.
Teaching without verbosity,
producing without possessing,
creating without regard to result,
claiming nothing,
the Sage has nothing to lose

There are so many times when you think this is not worth it anymore. I do not know the purpose anymore. I am doing something because I just like it.I have nothing to lose and nothing to gain. This is the moment that magic happens. when you let  go and just enjoy the ride. In such moments everything is in the right place,in the right time, and you remember the purpose again.

I love the Tao Te Ching poetry. Every line is a precious diamond.

Show must go on (hide and seek)

When you understand that everything is an illusion, everything is a big big lie.
When you understand that the game is a big big illusion and you don’t have any opponent. You play with yourself.
When the observer and the observation are not separate.
You are the one team, You are the other team, You are the ball, You are the referee, You are ground, You are the air, You are everything.
When you see your mask.
When you see other people’s mask.
When you see our society’s illusion.
When you see all illusions.
This is the right time to choose again your own mask.
This is the perfect moment to choose again your own role.
This is the perfect second to forget that you are playing just a game.
Play you new role. Be passionate about it. Give all you’ve got to play your part perfectly.
You cannot lose this game.
You will always win this game.
You can remember and relax.
and the Show must go on.
Let’s play again hide and seek.
let’s be foolish
let’s be young
let’s be purposeless
let’s be purposeful
This time I am choosing my role.
This time I am choosing my mask.
This only time
and this time
and this time
and this time
and always (this time)

The emperor paid 19 billions to buy an empty shirt :-)

It must be obvious… that there is a contradiction in wanting to be perfectly secure in a universe whose very nature is momentariness and fluidity. – Alan Watts

IBM – Microsoft – Google – Facebook want to keep their position in a fluid universe, in a fluid market. This flexible and fluid market made them emperors in the first place. When they reach the top  they want to change the laws of universe, market fundamentals.

However if we’ve been in Mark shoes we might have done  exactly the same. So let’s laugh with Mark, with ourselves, with human patterns, with human behaviour, with human nature.

Look at the clouds
new clouds every second
new colour every moment.

Just look.
No no no Just look
Look at the colours of your eyes
Listen to the thoughts of your mind
New eyes every moment
New thoughts every second

Just Look,

Yes me and everyone
Yes and everything
Yes yes yes yes….

Tech Utopia ,wealth, money and our new Industrial (tech) revolution

Utopia

I love tech. I use it every day. However  there are some issues with rapid tech growth and job replacements due to new technology.  What are the issues with “Software eating everything”?

You can find some thoughts here. ” VCs On Inequality, Unemployment, And Our Uncertain Future “  .

I want to add some thoughts.

Thinking that tech will solve all our problems is like believing that monkeys having smartphones will learn how to read.

Tech is a useful tool. Sharing fairly the resources of our imagination and labour is a totally different problem. A problem of another dimension. Tech can make us more efficient. Tech alone cannot make us more effective, more wise, more happy, more ….

Alan Watts talks about it. His insights are amazing even  though they are made 30 years ago.

Full Video here

I love his insights. The cut a long story short.

  • Minimum income needed
  • The machines ( software) will pay the bills. We must share the profits between the community and the producers ( software organizations).
  • Protestant ethics or Christian ethics regarding jobs and wealth creation  is obsolete.
  • We are Psychologically in the 17th century and technologically in the 21st century
  • We need to change our attitude towards money, wealth, pleasure, nature of work

Even contemporary entrepreneurs would agree with Alan.
